Summer is almost here and we want you to enjoy a SAFE summer. For many, summer also ushers in time at the swimming pool, lakes, creeks, and oceans. Sadly, drowning is the leading cause of death for children up to 4-years of age and is, many times, preventable.
Please download this very helpful Water Safety Checklist that is designed to raise awareness of what one can do to prevent drowning. Provided courtesy of the Orange County California Health Care Agency, the information provided is in English, Chinese (Traditional), Spanish and Vietnamese.
We strongly recommend taking young kids to an accredited swim school: drowning happens very quickly and is, many times, a silent killer. Drowning can also occur in a very small amount of water and, contrary to what we see in movies and on TV, most drownings are not accompanied by loud screams or splashing, so always being vigilent is a necessity.
